This site (starchini.com) collects the minimum information needed to run the site, fulfil orders, and keep in touch with listeners who opt in.

Who we are

Starchini is a UK sole trader and the data controller responsible for personal information collected through this site. For any privacy question or data request, contact starchini@protonmail.com.

What we collect

• Email address — only if you submit the "Join the Signal" form. Stored with Mailchimp and used to send release announcements.
• Standard server logs — Cloudflare records IP addresses and request metadata for routing and abuse prevention. This data is retained by Cloudflare under their privacy policy.
• Order details — when you buy something from the Store, Shopify (our checkout and storefront platform) collects your name, billing and shipping address, email, phone (optional), items ordered, and payment information. Shopify processes the payment via Shopify Payments. We see order details in our Shopify admin; we never see your full card number.

What we do not collect

No accounts, no analytics trackers, no advertising pixels, no fingerprinting, no third-party data sales.

When you buy something

Your shipping address and email are shared with Gelato, our UK print-on-demand fulfilment partner, so they can produce and ship your order. Gelato only receives the data needed for that order, and processes it under their own privacy policy. Order records are retained for at least 6 years to comply with UK tax law.

Third parties

The mailing list is handled by Mailchimp (Intuit Mailchimp). The Store checkout and order management run on Shopify, with payments processed by Shopify Payments. Apparel orders are produced and shipped by Gelato. The embedded video on the Transmissions page loads from YouTube (Google). Music platform links redirect to the respective services (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Bandcamp, SoundCloud). Each provider has its own privacy policy, which applies once you interact with them.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. To unsubscribe from the mailing list, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. For any other data request, write to starchini@protonmail.com. Note that order records required by law (tax, fraud prevention) can't be deleted within the statutory retention period.

Lawful basis

We process personal data on these bases: your consent (the mailing list), performance of a contract (processing and fulfilling your orders), legal obligation (keeping order and tax records), and legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and preventing abuse).

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please get in touch with us before you do.

This policy may be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
